Revamping an ugly 1970’s bungalow we wanted to create a low maintenance garden, full of plants that softened the architecture and blended into the beautiful surrounding countryside. With only one tree it was a blank canvas. Sarah brilliantly guided us through the process and helped us visualise the design. The garden is beyond our expectations, a true delight to sit in and yes it requires very little maintenance, perfect when you are in your 80’s. Read less

For many years my wife and I lived with a wasted area at the top of our lawn which contained little apart from a rotary washing line. Consequently, we hardly spent any time in this space aside from the hanging up/taking down of clothes in dry weather. In May 2022 a bold decision was reached in conjunction with Sarah, who by then had been working her magic in the rest of the garden for twelve months, to turn this ignored patch into a positive asset centred around a pond. We asked her to design a planting scheme to surround and complement the new water feature from scratch. In the meantime, I started digging the sizeable hole for the rigid liner – a job I bitterly regretted undertaking on several occasions. Once this task was complete Sarah set about implementing her vision: a wildlife corner bursting with a beautiful array of colourful plants and flowers too numerous to list here. The result was a wonderful transformation, not just of this neglected plot but in the whole way we have enjoyed the garden ever since. Sarah’s creation has become the epicentre of our outdoor living and a source of profound pleasure. Read less
